thanks so much for your comments and insight. I agree with you up to a point about either having or not having, I say this mainly because of my own experience. So of the skills/behaviours that I now use the most I had to learn. I am not saying it it easy, far from it. I think the starting point is in admitting to yourself.

I also read Dale Carnegie “How to win friends and influence people”, it has similar advice and to be honest some of the time although you can consciously attempt to change behavior, I think you either have some of this or you don’t. Just my personal opinion, but I’m so thankful for a good Irish nurse training where I’ve been lucky enough to have had first hand experience of putting this in to practice!
