I was just about to write a post on the how satisfied customers can help a business to grow through word of mouth marketing, recommendations and testimonials. Call it karma, but just then, a recent client of ours, Ireland’s best selling kitchen provider, Cash & Carry Kitchens send me over a testimonial.

Dave Perry shares his insight on Team Building Activities

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

There are nowhere near enough good commentators and very little real debate about corporate training in Ireland, it is unfortunately all too rarely that I am struck by what Irish trainers have to contribute.

Recently however, I came across a letter in the Irish HR and training magazine First Train which is published by www.corpoaratetraining.ie The letter referred to an earlier article on so called team building activities and events such as abseiling, paintballing, quad biking etc etc, which are proving to be increasingly popular with Irish business.

Website Performance againist Google’s Benchmarking

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

A few weeks back I posted “PageRank Thank Google” where I talked about getting our first PageRank for this, our new site. PageRank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web and goes right up to 10, in other words, its one of the important factors in helping to get new visitors on to your site.

Google Analytics is a free tool offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about these visitors. it shows you how people found your site, how they explored it, and how you can enhance their visitor experience. Improve your website return on investment, increase conversions, and make more money on the web.

Create Business Rapport in an Instant

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

The ability to create rapport with others helps to ensure success in almost every situation. Effective rapport building allows for more effective communication that is a crucial ingredient in all business interactions including but not limited to selling, negotiations and interviews.

Rapport usually happens at a level that we are unaware of so people will say that they had a gut instinct or a feeling to describe having a good or bad rapport with another person. Statements such as ” I had a good feeling about her” or ” There was something just not right about him” will be used to describe communications such as interviews or sales meetings.

Real Training Objectives

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Usually when I talk to clients who are looking for a training solution for their employees, one of the first things that I need to do is to get the client to decide and agree on the training objectives and to have them evaluate how realistic these objectives are in relation to both their budgets and timescales.

Irish Training Warning

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Having recently spoke to both other trainers and clients, It has come to my attention that some Irish training providers are trying to pass “off the shelf training courses” as “bespoke work”. One client I know paid a substantial sum of money for a tailored training solution for his employees only to later find out that the very same course could be downloaded from the net for a fraction of the cost. Another scam is to stick together bits of off the shelf courses and deliver as a bespoke solution.
