Conflict Management

A practical, bite-sized session to help you manage conflict calmly and constructively.

Poorly managed conflict situations are probably the most recognisable cause of stress and upset in today’s workplace. Interestingly, conflict situations often tend to hang from a few repeated patterns of behaviour on the part of one or all parties involved.

By understanding these patterns, delegates can actively manage or even head off potential conflict situations that have arisen, to a positive outcome for all parties involved.

This taster session will leave learners keen to manage conflict situations differently in the future.

By the end of this bite-sized session, participants will:

Handle conflict with power and authority and manage it within their life

Recognise patterns of conflict and manage themselves in conflict situations

Use a toolkit of strategies to reduce the levels of conflict

Apply a simple structure to help see the other person’s point of view

Spot opportunities to turn conflict into a positive outcome

Session Content

This interactive session utilises the Thomas Kilmann Conflict Model to explore typical habits and behavioral patterns in conflict.

Participants will examine the five conflict stances and learn how to use this insight to dissect existing workplace relationships, recognise potential areas of friction, and define practical strategies to improve ongoing collaboration and professional rapport.
